Terms of Service

Last updated: July 7, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of dontpoke.me (the "Service"), operated by dontpoke.me ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using any tool on the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. The Service

dontpoke.me provides OSINT and security research tools, including breach exposure lookups, domain risk screening, redirect/link analysis, website security scanning, SPF/DMARC checks, DNS blacklist checks, and related advanced tools (Email Analyzer, Domain Intel, Social Footprint Search), plus a browser extension (LinkSlinger) and a programmatic API.

Results are generated from third-party data sources (WHOIS/RDAP registries, DNS, Certificate Transparency logs, Have I Been Pwned, threat-intel feeds, and similar) and automated analysis. See our Privacy Policy for details on which third parties we query and why.

2. Eligibility & Accounts

You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EU/EEA) to create an account. You're responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.

You may sign in with email/password, GitHub, or Google. Linking a third-party account authorizes us to read the minimal profile information (email, account ID) needed to identify you — see our Privacy Policy.

3. Acceptable Use

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Acceptable Use Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. In short: don't use dontpoke.me to harass, stalk, or harm real people; don't attempt to break the Service; don't resell or scrape our data beyond what your plan permits.

4. Plans & Billing

All tools and features on dontpoke.me are currently available at no cost, no credit card required. We don't currently charge for any plan or tier. If we introduce paid plans in the future, we'll update these Terms and give existing users advance notice before any charges begin.

5. API Access

API keys are personal to your account and subject to the rate limits shown in your account settings. Don't share API keys, and don't use the API to build a competing product that resells our tool outputs in bulk. We may revoke keys used in violation of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by dontpoke.me. You retain ownership of any input you submit (domains, URLs, emails you search). We don't claim ownership of your inputs, and — per our Privacy Policy — we don't sell or share them for advertising purposes.

7. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." Our tools aggregate and analyze data from third-party sources we don't control; we don't guarantee that results (breach matches, risk scores, DNS/SSL data, etc.) are complete, accurate, or up to date. Use your own judgment before making security or business decisions based on our output.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, dontpoke.me is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including decisions made based on tool results. Our total liability for any claim is limited to $100.

8. Termination

By you: You can delete your account at any time from Account → Delete account. This permanently removes your data as described in our Privacy Policy.

By us: We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, don't pay applicable fees, or pose a security/legal risk to the Service or other users. Where practical, we'll notify you first.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the law of your own country of residence (for EU/EEA and UK users in particular).

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. We'll update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify registered users by email with at least 30 days' notice before the change takes effect. Continued use after that means you accept the updated Terms.
